Over 20 Marks & Spencer stores are set to close globally.
According to the Irish Daily Mail, the department store is “under pressure” with focus now going to online shopping.
According to the publication at least 20 stores will close, with rumours that overall 70 stores could close in the next five years.
A spokesperson for Marks & Spencer could not confirm whether the 17 Irish M&S shops would be affected.
Marks and Spencer have stores all over the world – including flagship stores in Paris and China.
