16. EXCLUSIVE! Aisling O'Loughlin will NOT return to Xposé
Aisling O'Loughlin revealed exclusively to Goss.ie that she wouldn't be returning to Xposé.
Aisling said, "I probably won’t be returning back to Xposé".
Shortly after this, Lisa Cannon, Peter O'Riordan and Aisling were axed from the TV3 show.
15. EXCLUSIVE! Laura Whitmore's 'terrible time' with Strictly partner Giovanni revealed
After much speculation about the relationship between Laura Whitmore and her partner, Goss.ie exclusively revealed that she had a 'terrible time' with him.
The pair got to week seven on the popular BBC show despite Laura sustaining an ankle injury, but according to our sources, she struggled more emotionally than physically due to her “self centred” dance partner.
“Laura had a terrible time behind the scenes, but tried her best to be professional," a well-placed source said.
14. Oliver Callan hits out at Repeal the 8th campaign
The RTE star said that he was “sick” of the ongoing campaign, insisting that the campaign is being supported by “media nitwits”.
13. This Irish blogger is live snapchatting her birth today
Grace Mongey made headlines this year, when she live snapchatted her birth.
Taking to Snapchat early in the morning, Grace revealed that she was in hospital, patiently waiting on her first born.
Grace previously revealed that she would be snapchatting throughout the process of her birth, and while she won’t be showing EVERYTHING (obviously) – she wanted to share most of the precious moments with her followers.
12. Sinead O'Connor: Prince tried to kick the living s**t out of me
Sinead O’Connor has revealed that she had a “fist fight” with Prince – and feared he was going to “kick the living s**t out” of her.
The Nothing Compares 2 U star met the musician, whose song made her career, in 1990 at his house after he summoned her to to an early-morning meeting.
But Sinead revealed it all escalated when she told him to go “f**k himself” after Prince said he wasn’t happy with her swearing constantly in interviews.
11. EXCLUSIVE! Holly Carpenter and Danny O'Reilly have SPLIT
Goss.ie exclusively revealed that Holly Carpenter and Coronas frontman Danny O'Reilly split.
A source close to the couple confirmed that Holly called time on their relationship last month, but there was no drama.
“They had a really good relationship and got on so well, but Holly felt it just wasn’t right anymore,” our source revealed.
10. EXCLUSIVE! Roz Purcell's new boyfriend revealed
After reports emerged that Roz was seeing a new man, Goss.ie revealed that her mystery beau was Zach Desmond – son of MCD’s Denis Desmond.
“They have been public for a while. They were at EP together and kissed in front of everyone,” a source told Goss.ie.
The model split from The Blizzard’s frontman Bressie earlier this year who was also at Electric Picnic.
9. 'HURRICANE' weather set for Electric Picnic
People were shocked when it was revealed that 'hurricane weather' was headed for Electric Picnic.
The US National Hurricane Centre in Miami said 'hurricane' weather was set to hit the UK and Ireland on the week of EP.
According to the NHC, a 90mph hurricane was formed off the coast in Florida and was heading our way. The storm was predicted to reach Irish shores by EP with 70mph gusts and gales expected.
8. Viewers left with 'goosebumps' as RTÉ's Centenary is dubbed the 'new Riverdance'
Some of the country’s best known singers, musicians and performers came together for Centenary – a special show in Dublin’s Bord Gáis Energy Theatre to mark the 100th anniversary of the 1916 Rising.
While there were some incredible events on the weekend to remember the historic event that changed our nation forever, this RTÉ show truly captivated everybody.
Artists including Imelda May, Jack Lukeman, Gavin James, The High Kings, Colm Wilkinson, Danny O’Reilly, Roisin O, Sharon Shannon and Seo Linn all performed.
7. WATCH: Danny O'Reilly and Roisin O perform a haunting rendition of Grace
As commemorations for the 1916 rising continued to pour in from around the country, the centenary became a family affair for Danny O’Reilly, sister Roisin O and cousin Aoife Scott.
The trio recorded a rendition of Grace in Kilmainham Gaol for RTE’s Centenary.
The song, written in 1985, tells the story of Grace Clifford who married married Joseph Plunkett in Kilmainham Gaol hours before he was executed for his role in the Rising.
6. WATCH: Aoibhin Garrihy's wedding video is breathtaking
Actress Aoibhín Garrihy wed her long term partner John Burke in a private ceremony this year.
The couple tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in Doolin, Co Clare with the reception taking place at the groom’s hotel – The Armada Hotel, Spanish Point.
The wedding party and guests enjoyed entertainment by Irish bands Moxie and The Heathers.
5. Bono confirms ANOTHER U2 world tour for 2017
Frontman Bono confirmed that the band will strike out on another world tour next year.
Bono revealed to the Spanish fan group ‘U2 en Espana’ that a new album and tour are in the works.
“It’s [the new record] not finished yet but you will like it. In terms of lyrics it is stronger than WAR, it has more clarity,” Bono said.

3. Queen B is coming to town! Beyoncé set to play Croke Park
Rumours were rampant that Beyoncé was set to announce a special gig in Croke Park.
Fans of the hit-maker were claiming that the international pop star will reveal a Croke Park date as a part of her world tour.
It seems that the people were right - as Beyoncé was soon confirmed to play Croke Park on July 9th.
2. Ronan Keating posts heartfelt tribute to Stephen Gately
Ronan Keating posted a heartfelt tribute to Stephen Gately this year.
The singer passed away on October 10th 2009 in his home in Majorca from a undiagnosed heart condition.
Ronan put up an Instagram photo of Stephen with the caption: “Hey Steo. ‘A true hero isn’t measured by the size of his strength but by the strength of his heart, Miss ya bro.”
