Derry teenager SOAK has established herself as a force to be reckoned with in the music industry after picking up the Choice Music Prize for Album of the Year for her debut Before We Forgot How To Dream.
The €10,000 prize is awarded to an artist based on the quality of their music rather than sales or airplay.
U2’s Adam Clayton was on hand to present the 19-year-old with the honour.

“I don’t even know where to start. I didn’t see this coming at all. Thank you so much. This is unbelievable. I wish I had something intelligent to say but I’m genuinely overwhelmed,” she said
SOAK went on to give an important message to her fans, both young and old.
“This proves that no matter what age you are if you want to go out and do something you can,” she added.
