Hazel O'Sullivan's column: Holiday pics, why girls look better after a break up and I've FINALLY joined Snapchat

Hey guys,

Hope you have all had an amazing week.

Mine certainly brightened up after getting a phone call to say my camera had been found at a venue in London which had all our holiday pictures, birthdays and every other occasion that you wouldn’t want falling into the hands of a stranger!

I am always so shocked when someone hands over a phone/wallet/camera that has been accidentally left behind somewhere, its nice to be reminded that there are some good people out there as messed up as the world seems at times.

So there was a little reminiscing whilst flicking back through the pictures, here’s one from a few weeks back in the algarve, this is my, “I’m not posing, I’m being totally natural, pose” nailed it haha!

Vogue’s belfie proves girls look better post breakup

Speaking of reminiscing I saw Vogue Williams reminiscent holiday belfie picture this week on Goss and I think she looks amazing, of course when does she not, but especially considering her recent break up from Brian McFadden.

Isn’t this normally the time when us heartbroken gals consume an untold amount of comfort calories and cry rivers into our tubs of Ben & Jerry ice-cream? Seems not to be the case anymore and I have to say I’m loving this new age revenge body trend after a break up verses the old Bridget Jones rig ma roll!!

I think new age social media has a lot to do with it…… Before Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat – where oh where did we flaunt our super hot post break up revenge bodies to remind them of what they are missing out on ???

Now we can garner the same comfort from “likes” and “favourites” as we did from ice cream and cake! Win win I say!

Look to Kourtney Kardashian, yes I mentioned a Kardashian again, but she has never looked better since her split from her partner Scott Disick.

Before social media this line of revenge and regaining yourself was exclusive to the celebrities who had the platform of already being in the public eye but nowadays everyone can have a slice of that zero calorie pie.

Little snap, click, upload and your dusting your hands wondering why you ever wasted any time on that fool!

Just remember not to start drunk dailing your ex telling him how much you miss him after you’ve posted a “having the time of my life” selfie at the club with your girls, it slightly ruins the illusion.

See, technology can be your best friend but can also turn around and kick you in the butt! Ok, now you can reach for the ice cream!

I’ve jumped on the Snapchat band wagon

So looks like EVERYONE has jumped back on the Snapchat bandwagon!

I did have an account about a year ago but swiftly got rid of it because it felt like it had become a platform for people to send nude selfies and get away with it as it only last a few seconds.

But it’s seems to have had some kind of regeneration with a lot of influential “it” celebs using it non-stop I’m finding myself wanting to give it another go, yes I’m feeling a little left out of the online social media loop sob sob!

I’ve seen that fellow Irish models Rosanna Davison and Georgia Penna have started snap chatting of late so maybe it’s time I started myself a new account and see what all this new fuss is about.

So here we go, follow me here and see what I get up to! I’ll give it me best shot! Or Snap, should I say – my username is hazelosullivan1.

Dolled up for a night in Camden Town

For anyone who knows me personally they know I am not the biggest party girl, don’t get me wrong, I could drink you under the table but the clubbing scene just doesn’t really appeal to me.

This week I went to a live gig in Camden, London and I absolutely loved it, I went to watch Eric Roberson, a rhythm and blues soul singer and the live intimate gig was right up my street.

Selfie time: I headed out to gigs in Camden

I’m a little annoyed now that I didn’t venture into gigs in Dublin to check out the live gigs there while I lived in Dublin as I always thought it just wasn’t my cup of tea.

I’ve been trying things lately that I always dismissed as “not my cup of tea” and have ended up really enjoying a lot of them, pilates, yoga, golf, slap stick comedy movies.

Sometime I guess it’s good to open up and try new things, just because you didn’t like something five years ago doesn’t mean you won’t now!

Trying new things: Tasting snails with my boyfriend Andros in Cyprus

Speaking of trying new things, another fun picture I found while flicking through holiday pictures on my camera, this one from Cyprus on holiday with my boyfriend Andros and his family, the something new being ……Snails, hey maybe I’m getting a little carried away with trying new things!

In this case maybe some things in life are best left on the “not my cup of tea” list!!

That’s all for this week guys!! See you back here in the same place next Sunday.

Hazel xx
