It's the final countdown! Hozier reveals next gig will be last in Ireland

Hozier has revealed his performance at the 2fm Christmas Ball will be his last in Ireland for some time.

The Wicklow man has been touring relentless over the past 18 months, previously admitted he was taking a break.

“It’ll be the last time I play in Ireland for many a couple of years, I have to say,” he said.

“We have a show in Killarney that’s sold out but it’ll be the last time I play a gig in Ireland because I’ll be taking a break for a while.

“My tour ends in March so I have a tour in the UK and Europe after that so the Christmas Ball is the last in Ireland,” he told 2fm’s Breakfast Republic.

Meanwhile, the Grammy nominee returned from New York where he performed at Bono’s charity event to mark World Aids Day.

Speaking about his relationship with the U2 frontman, the 25-year-old singer admitted he has been a supporter of his through his early career.

“Bono is someone who has been supportive of myself from early on, I have to say. It was an honour to be asked,” he said.
