Madame Tussauds has been accused of whitewashing after unveiling Beyoncé’s wax figure.
The highly-popular wax museum took to Twitter to announce that the figure of the 35-year-old star had been moved to their New York location.
Fans of the singer took then took to the social network to slam it’s appearance, saying that it looks more like Lindsay Lohan and Kate Hudson than Beyoncé.
Madame Tussauds responded to criticism as they claimed that it was all a matter of the lighting in the social media post.
A representative told TMZ, “Our talented team of sculptors takes every effort to ensure we accurately colour match all of our wax figures to the celebrity being depicted.
“Lighting within the attraction combined with flash photography may distort and misrepresent the colour of our wax figures.”
