Platinum Hair Extensions has recently hit the market with a store in Dublin and another in Galway’s Eyre Square Centre, they are also opening up a third store in Cork city in the new year.
Goss.ie were invited in to check out Platinum Luxury Hair’s studio just off Grafton Street – and I was the lucky Goss Gal who experienced a dramatic change to my hair.
After choosing to chop half my hair off, I was more than delighted to waltz into their studio to receive some long, luscious locks.

I was given a warm welcome by Fiona who then looked at my hair and decided what were the best colours to pick as I have about 25 different colours in my hair.
I was skeptical that they would find colours to match because of the many shades in my hair – but fortunately they were able to match it up perfectly out of their 27 colours available.
In Platinum Luxury Hair, they are able to mix and match all their colours so that any blonde, brunette or redhead will be able to walk out with natural looking hair.
Using a heated bonding iron, Stacey carefully added strands of the extensions to my natural hair row by row.

The process was pain-free and enjoyable with the only thing I could feel was the heat from the iron.
When the full head of hair was fully applied, I instantly could see that they had perfectly matched my natural hair to the extensions.
Stacey then told me how to take care of the extensions – which was a lot easier than I was expecting.
She advised me to invest in Platinum Luxury Hair’s shampoo as some shampoos have chemicals that can weaken the bonds.

I also picked up their hair brush that is specially designed for bonded extensions so that the strands don’t tear out when brushing my roots.
After the application, it was time for Sean to come over and curl my hair with their Instyler for a glamorous finishing touch.
The process was no where near as long as I expected and in just two hours I was out with gorgeous, bouncy hair.
It was a stress-free enjoyable session in their Grafton Street salon and was no where near as painful as I expected.
It’s been about a month since the hair was added to my head and the only annoyances from the extensions has been how tender my head felt the week after – but after a few washes and my actual hair growing, the pain is free and it no longer feels like extensions.

Prices for a half head of extensions start from €279 for a half head, a three-quarter head is €299 and for a full head, which I received, is €349.
