It’s an exciting day for fans of The Devil Wears Prada.
Elton John announced on Thursday that he is writing the score for a musical based on the beloved book and movie.
“Re-imagining The Devil Wears Prada for the musical theatre is super exciting,” the singing icon said in a statement.

“I’m a huge fan of both the books and the feature film, and a huge aficionado of the fashion world. I can’t wait to sink my musical teeth into this hunk of popular culture.”
The production has its sights set on Broadway, and will see Elton work with playwright Paul Rudnick.
The story follows Andy Sachs, who gets a job working as a personal assistant for the powerful and famously icy editor of the biggest fashion magazine in the world.
The 2003 book was written by Lauren Weisberger, the real-life former assistant of Vogue editor Anna Wintour.
It was adapted into a movie in 2006, starring Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt.
