Elton John to honour George Michael with touching musical tribute at his funeral

Elton John is said to be planning on singing a version of Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me at his late friend George Michael’s funeral.

The 53-year old was found dead in his bed on Christmas Day by his partner Fadi Fawaz, after suffering a reported heart attack.

According to the Daily Star, Elton will pay tribute to George by singing a version of their hit duet, which they both sang back in 1992, at his funeral.

Elton John previously paid musical tribute to the late Princess Diana at her funeral in Westminster Abbey.

After tragically dying in a car accident on August 31, 1997, her close pal Elton sang Candle In The Wind, with some new lyrics supplied by Bernie Taupin, at the service.

Meanwhile, George Michael’s close friend and PR chief revealed yesterday that “easy access to drugs” caused the singer’s downfall.
