Rihanna has posted the first look at the upcoming film Oceans 8, and it’s all-female cast.
The film is the latest instalment in the series of hit heist thrillers, that started with 2001’s Ocean’s Eleven. However, this movie features an all-female crew, which is led by Sandra Bullock and Cate Blanchett.
Ocean’s 8 also stars Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter, Rihanna, Mindy Kaling, Awkwafina, and Sarah Paulson, and Rihanna has shared the first official photo from the film.
The movie is set in New York, and the a-list Met Gala bash is the target of the movie’s heist.
Ocean’s 8 features an all new cast, but Matt Damon, one of the stars of the original movies, is also set to cameo.
“I’m doing a little bit in the movie. The cast is phenomenal, and I’m excited to see what those women do with it. It’s going to be fun,” Damon said back in November.
The film’s brief released by Warner Bros reads, “In Summer 2018, the tide will turn as Debbie Ocean (SANDRA BULLOCK) attempts to pull off the heist of the century at New York City’s star-studded annual Met Gala. Her first stop is to assemble the perfect crew: Lou (CATE BLANCHETT); Nine Ball (RIHANNA); Amita (MINDY KALING); Constance (AWKWAFINA); Rose (HELENA BONHAM CARTER); Daphne Kluger (ANNE HATHAWAY); and Tammy (SARAH PAULSON).”
The movie is directed by The Hunger Games’ Gary Ross, and produced by Steven Soderbergh. Ocean’s 8 opens on June 8, 2018.
