Tom Hardy responds to THOSE James Bond rumours

Rumours are swirling that the Brit will be the next James Bond

Tom Hardy has responded to rumours that he will be the next James Bond.

Since it was announced that Spectre would be Daniel Craig’s final appearance as Bond, the public have been speculating as to who will play the intelligence officer next.

When asked whether he wants to play 007, the British actor said, “You know, there’s a saying amongst us in the fraternity of acting, that if you talk about it you’re automatically out of the race.

“So I can’t possibly comment on that one! If I mention it, it’s gone.”

He then spoke very highly of previous Bond films, “Because Daniel [Craig] is so good, and what [Sam] Mendes and Barbara [Broccoli] have done has been so impressive, that it would be a very hard re-imagination to follow after.

The Daily Beast then asked Tom what he thinks about director Christopher Nolan taking on a James Bond film.

“I wonder what the next instalment of that franchise would become, and I think when you mention someone like Christopher Nolan, that’s a very powerful figure to bring into that world who could bring something new and create something profound – again.”
