Caitlyn Jenner slams Ellen DeGeneres in explosive new memoir

Caitlyn Jenner is lashing out at Ellen DeGeneres in her new book The Secrets of my Life, which is out on April 25th.

According to an excerpt published by Radar, the transgender reality star claims the comedian “alienated” her from the LGBTQ community after her controversial appearance on The Ellen Show in 2015.

Caitlyn, who is a Republican, writes that Ellen asked her in a “friendly” voice how her views on same sex marriage have “progressed over the years.”

“I believed, as anyone would, that that was exactly what she wanted to talk about, my progression in terms of changing attitude over the years,” she allegedly shares in the book.

At the time, Caitlyn said she is “a traditionalist” and always saw marriage as “between a man and a woman”, but added that she now thinks, “I don’t ever want to stand in front of anybody’s happiness.”

Ellen, who is openly gay and married to Portia de Rossi, pointed out in response that it seemed like Caitlyn was “still kind of a little not on board with it”.

The host then spoke to Howard Stern about the interview, and said the Olympian “still has a judgement about gay marriage”, calling her stance “really confusing”.

“This discussion further alienated me from members of the LGBTQ community,” Caitlyn allegedly writes. “Ellen’s appearance on The Howard Stern Show, where in my mind she even more emphatically took what I said out of context, made it go viral.”

The star also clarified her thoughts on same sex marriage, sharing, “I am for it. I did not initially understand why marriage was so important, influenced no doubt by my own personal experience. Now I do, and it’s a wonderful thing to see.”
