Daniel Day-Lewis has confirmed he will “no longer be an actor”.
The Irish star, who has graced our screens in some of the best movies of all time, has officially said he is leaving the industry for good.
In a statement to Variety, Daniel’s representative said this was a private decision.

“Daniel Day-Lewis will no longer be working as an actor.
“He is immensely grateful to all of his collaborators and audiences over the many years. This is a private decision and neither he nor his representatives will make any further comment on this subject,” they added.
The 60-year-old has been known for completely immersing himself into his roles, known as one of the strictest method actors in the world.
The Oscar winner was continuously “persuaded” by directors like Stephen Spielberg to return to the screen, after long bouts of absence.
His career has spanned four decades, and his last movie will hit cinemas next Christmas.
