Emma Stone reacts to Best Picture disaster after the Oscars

Everyone was in shock when it was revealed that Moonlight had actually won Best Picture at the Oscars, after La La Land was accidentally called out by presenters Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway.

But Emma Stone wasn’t about to let the mistake ruin her night after winning Best Actress for her role in the film.

The 28-year-old was a great sport about the embarrassing flub when asked about it in the press room, telling reporters that she is thrilled for Moonlight.

“God, I love Moonlight so much!” Emma said. “It was amazing to hear La La Land but we are so excited. One of the best films of all time.”

She added: “Is that Best Picture the craziest Oscar moment of all time? Cool! We just made history!”

Emma had remained on stage after it was revealed that La La Land hadn’t really won the evening’s top honour, clapping and ushering the stars of Moonlight on stage to accept their award.

But she doesn’t quite understand how it happened, because she was holding the Best Actress envelope that Warren claimed he had by accident in her hand at the time.

In the press room the star also said she now plans to celebrate her big win, revealing, “I’m gonna go out with a bunch of my friends and drink champagne!”

And when asked about Emma Watson turning down the lead role in La La Land, Emma said, “She’s doing great. She’s the coolest. She’s Belle.”
