The Weeknd has the seal of approval from Selena Gomez’s mother.
After the singer shared a photo from the couple’s red carpet debut at the Met Gala on Instagram, Mandy Teefey apparently left an adorable comment on it.
According to a fan on Twitter, Selena’s mum wrote: “Glowing, smiling, looking health and equal love. Mama is happy XO.”

Selena and The Weeknd’s romance was first revealed when they were spotted kissing after a dinner date in January.
And while they haven’t talked about their relationship, photos of them travelling to Italy, at Coachella and at the Met Gala show how happy they are.
It’s clearly serious between the Can’t Feel My Face hit-maker and the actress and singer, and Selena apparently was seen whispering “I love you” to The Weeknd as they walked the red carpet together.
Meanwhile, the Spring Breakers star told Humans of New York at the star-studded event that her mother taught her never to take her success for granted, so she thinks she would be okay if she lost everything.
“I feel like I’m just starting, but I think I’d be fine if it all went away. I get that from my mother,” she said. “From the moment I started singing, she always reminded me that all of this was a privilege, and could be taken at any moment.
“So singing is not how I define myself. I try to keep my identity rooted in my friendships and my faith.”
