Taylor Swift appears in court for assault case against DJ

Taylor Swift has appeared in court for her assault case against a radio DJ.

On Monday, the pop singer was present at a court in Denver, Colorado for the first day of jury selection for her case against radio DJ David Mueller.

The DJ and his girlfriend at the time attended a meet-and-greet with Taylor before her concert in Denver on June 2, 2013 – and Taylor has claimed that David put his hand up her dress and groped her while posing for a photograph.

In her deposition for the trial, Taylor said, “It was not an accident, it was completely intentional, and I have never been so sure of anything in my life.”

The radio host, who has vehemently denied the allegations, was fired from his job at radio station KYGO two days after the alleged incident.

Due to this, David filed a lawsuit seeking $3 million in damages, claiming that Taylor’s allegations cost him his job and damaged his professional reputation.

However, a month later Taylor countersued David by accusing him of assault and battery.

Taylor hopes the case will “serve as an example to other women who may resist publicly reliving similar outrageous and humiliating acts.”

According to the New York Times, both Taylor and David are expected to testify during the case.
