Lady Gaga has come to Ed Sheeran’s defence following his decision to quit Twitter.
The 26-year-old recently announced his decision to quit the social media site due to receiving abuse online.
The British singer was also subject to the wrath of Lady Gaga’s loyal fan base, when they thought that he spoken about her in an interview.
Lady Gaga has since come to Ed’s defence following his comments – urging social media users to be “positive and loving”.
The Bad Romance singer took to Instagram to post a photo of the pair with the caption “I LOVE ED”.
Gaga went on to say: “No reason to tear down an artist simply because they are on top. Work harder to be kinder everybody. That should be your first duty to humanity.”
Ed previously explained his decision to leave the social media app, saying: ‘I got on it and there’s nothing but people saying mean things. Twitter’s a platform for that. One comment ruins your day. But that’s why I’ve come off it.
‘The head f**k for me has been trying to work out why people dislike me so much.’
