Linkin Park cancels tour as bandmates pay tribute after Chester Bennington’s death

Linkin Park are in mourning following the death of their singer Chester Bennington.

The band have cancelled their upcoming tour and members have shared moving tributes to Chester, who was found dead by suicide on Thursday.

Linkin Park had released new single Talking To Myself earlier that day and were due to start the North American leg of their One More Light tour next week.

“We are incredibly saddened to hear about the passing of Chester Bennington. The Linkin Park One More Light North American Tour has been canceled and refunds are available at point of purchase. Our thoughts go out to all those affected,” LiveNation told E! in a statement.

The tour had started out in May and travelled through South America and Europe, and was due to conclude in Japan in November.

Chester’s bandmates reacted on Twitter after a coroner confirmed he committed suicide by hanging, with Dave Farrell writing, “Heartbroken”.

“Shocked and heartbroken, but it’s true. An official statement will come out as soon as we have one,” Mike Shinoda added.

Chester battled substance abuse in the past and was abused by an older man as a child.

He is survived by wife Talinda and their three children Tyler, Lilly and Lila, as well as three other children from previous relationships.

If you or someone you know is struggling, please call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline on 1-800-273-8255.
