Mariah Carey pens touching tribute to Manchester attack victim Martyn Hett

Mariah Carey has paid tribute to Martyn Hett, who sadly lost his life in the Manchester terror attack on Monday night.

The 29-year-old was a huge fan of the songstress, and now Mariah has taken to Instagram to honour him with some touching words.

Posting a picture of Martyn wearing one of her tour t-shirts, Mariah wrote, “Devastated to learn that one of the victims in Manchester was part of the #Lambily.”

“RIP Martyn Hett. We will cherish your memory forever. His family and all the families affected are in my thoughts and prayers.”

Martyn, who was from Stockport, was one of the 22 people who lost their lives in the suicide bombing that took place at the Manchester Arena after Ariana Grande’s concert on Monday.

Martyn was a big fan of the singer, and shared many photographs of Mariah on social media.

The PR manager had even met her in the past, and had the quote, “My life peaked when I met Mariah Carey” in his Twitter bio.

Martyn was also a friend of Irish Snapchat star James Kavanagh, who paid tribute to him yesterday.

Martyn’s devastated family have since released a statement, describing him as “the icon of all our lives”.

In a statement issued by Greater Manchester Police, they said, “Words cannot describe the generosity and kindness our families have received over the last few days.

“We are overwhelmed with the amount of lives he has touched and the kind words that are being said about him. Martyn was the icon of all our lives. His infectious laugh and his niche sense of humour will stay with us forever.

“He lived for every moment of every day and fitted an entire lifetime of memories into his 29 years. Whilst they have taken the life out of Martyn, no-one can, and ever will, take Martyn out of our lives.’

Martyn had previously appeared on TV shows like Come Dine With Me and Tattoo Fixers.
