Oprah Winfrey staged an intervention for Jamie Foxx – during ‘binging’ phase

Jamie Foxx has said Oprah Winfrey completely saved his career.

The actor has admitted that he went drinking and got into hard partying, after he got his first Oscar nomination for his role as Ray Charles in the movie Ray.

But as he started to go off the rails, Oprah Winfrey called him out, and told him he was going to “blow it” if he kept partying.

“I’m having such a good time and I’m not knowing I’m f—– up,” he told Howard Stern’s SiriusXM radio show.

Partying: Jamie went a bit wild

“I’m drinking, I’m doing every f—— thing you could possibly imagine,” he admitted.

But out of nowhere, top talk show host Oprah called him and asked him to change his ways.

“[She said], ‘All of this gallivanting and all this kind of s—, that’s not what you want to do … want to take you somewhere. Make you understand the significance of what you’re doing.’ ”

Oprah then organized a meeting with some legendary actors at the home of Quincy Jones.

“We go in the house and there are all these old actors,” Jamie explained.

“Black actors from the ’60s and the ’70s. Who look like they just want to say, ‘Good luck.’ They want to say, ‘Don’t blow it.’ ”
