Pretty Little Liars stars promise a ‘huge twist’ in the series finale

The Pretty Little Liars cast and creators discussed the future of the characters’ relationships at PaleyFest on Saturday.

LAGoss.com attended the panel discussion where I. Marlene King promised a “huge twist” in the series finale and said she hopes fans “will be satisfied” with it.

And she revealed there will be “bends in the road” as all of the relationships continue to play out, explaining, “All the endgames will be the endgames but it won’t be super easy to get there.”

As for Emison (aka Emily and Alison), she added: “These 10 episodes are Alison really trying to figure out what her sexuality is, and Emily plays a big part of that.”

Shay Mitchell was praised throughout the panel for playing an openly gay character so beautifully, and became emotional when one fan thanked her for being such an inspiration.

“To play a character that has had an impact n a lot of people’s lives in a very meaningful way, you can’t ask for that,” she said.

As for what’s next for Ezra (Ian Harding) and Aria (Lucy Hale) after the revelation that Nicole is still alive, Ian shared, “It was a fun time to shoot. I think people will be – I don’t know. I mean it’s a bit of a difficult decision to make.

‘This woman that [Ezra was] in love with who I thought was dead is not, and I’m also in love with this other woman who I’ve been with for quite some time and we have a very long and very elaborate history. So Ezra’s kind of stuck between a rock and a hard place in this last section and it can be a bit brutal I think, at times.”

And Tyler Blackburn is glad that his character Caleb is back with Hanna (Ashley Benson) after a brief romance with Spencer (Troian Bellisario).

“Spaleb was fun to dabble with but Haleb is where it’s at,” he said to huge cheers from the audience, before praising Ashley for making him so comfortable the first time they worked together.

“This was my first big acting job and she made me feel so comfortable,” Tyler revealed, then turning to Ashley and adding, “I was very vulnerable and nervous and you just made it so easy.”

The cast also did readings as each other’s characters while discussing the final 10 episodes of Pretty Little Liars, which will kick off on April 18th.
