PICS: Harry Styles steals the show at world premiere of Dunkirk

The world premiere of Dunkirk took place at the Odeon Leicester Square in London on Thursday night.

The film’s release has been much-anticipated, as this is Christopher Nolan’s latest big screen project since 2014’s Interstellar.

However, a particular buzz has surrounded the film because of one person in particular – Harry Styles.

The former One Direction star, who makes his acting debut in the WWII epic, was greeted by plenty of screaming fans on the red carpet.

The 23-year-old, who has already won early praise for his role of soldier Alex in Dunkirk, looked dapper in a black Gucci suit.

Although he was dressed much more reserved compared to his usual ensembles, Harry did rock a pair of red-heeled boots with dragon and lizard embroidery from the 2018 Gucci cruise collection.

Others well-known faces on the red carpet included Prince Harry, who led veterans of WWII on the red carpet in London.

The film sees critically-acclaimed director Christopher Nolan recreate the action of one of the largest operations of the Second World War, when 338,000 British, French and Belgian allied soldiers were evacuated in Operation Dynamo on the beaches of Dunkirk in 1940.

The military operation was recreated in the same spot, 78 years on to create the new 2017 flick, which also stars Tom Hardy, Cillian Murphy and Mark Rylance.

Tom, who has impressed in the film reviews despite only having about ‘ten lines’, walked the red carpet with his wife Charlotte Riley.

Cillian Murphy, who has become a regular face in Christopher Nolan’s films, was also pictured on the red carpet, as well as fellow Irish man Barry Keoghan.

Former Love/Hate star Barry has already been praised by Mark Rylance for his “ambition”.

Dunkirk will hit Irish cinemas nationwide on 21 July 2017.
