It’s one of the most beloved sci-fi films around and The Matrix is now set to get the reboot treatment.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, a revival of the 1998 movie is officially in the works at Warner Bros.
The publication reports that the project is still in the very early days and it has not been revealed what form the reboot will take place in.

However X2 and The Avengers’s Zak Penn is apparently in discussions to write a treatment for it, and there’s talk of Michael B. Jordan potentially starring.
The Matrix was written and directed by the Wachowski siblings, and starred Keanu Reeves as hacker Neo, who discovers the true nature of his reality and must fight against the ones controlling it.
The movie was followed in 2003 by The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions, which were not as well received as the original.
Keanu has previously said that he would consider returning for another Matrix movie if the Wachowski sisters were writing and directing it, but according to The Hollywood Reporter they are currently not involved with the reboot.
