Fans simply can’t wait for the Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets to hit cinemas.
And judging by the newly released trailer, they will not be disappointed.
The exciting clip gave us a glimpse of Alpha as Valerian (Dane DeHaan) and his partner Laureline (Cara Delevingne) are tasked with saving the universe.

Set in the 28th century, the once peaceful City of a Thousand Planets is being threatened by a mysterious dark force, and it’s up to Valerian and Laureline to save the day.
The pair are told by their commander Arün Filitt (Clive Owen) that they have “less than 10 hours to find the threat and eliminate it”.
Rihanna is also shown briefly in the clip in her role as shapeshifting entertainer Bubble, changing from a cabaret outfit to a nurse’s costume while performing on stage.

Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets also stars John Goodman and Ethan Hawke, and will be released in the US on July 21st and in the UK and Ireland on August 4th.
The movie is based on the French comic book series Valérian and Laureline, which is written by Pierre Christin and illustrated by Jean-Claude Mézières.
