Keith Duffy reveals that they had to fight for the name ‘Boyzlife’

A mystery third party objected to them using the name

Keith Duffy has revealed how he and Brian McFadden had to fight to be able to use their own band name.

The pair had sold out an entire UK tour when an anonymous third party objected to them registering the Boyzlife name in the UK and throughout the EU.

Keith said “I was surprised because we had come up with a new concept. We weren’t hurting anyone. We weren’t exposing anyone which might hurt their public image.”

“We were just trying to make a living and come up with some new ideas. After coming so far, it was a huge kick in the arse for myself and Brian.”

The former Boyzone star revealed that one of the most frustrating things about the ordeal was that they didn’t know who was behind it.

He told The Irish Sun “I feel it was someone who knew us well and was trying to prevent us doing something that was going to be a lot of fun.

“Because we managed to secure the Boyzlife name, we never found out who was trying to ruin the project.”

The pair remained on edge for a number of days, until their lawyers confirmed that the had secured the Boyzlife name.
