James Arthur set to be SUED by The Script

James Arthur is reportedly being sued by The Script.

The X Factor star released his hit single Say You Won’t Let Go this year – but supposedly it sounds very similar to one of the Dublin band’s songs, The Man Who Can’t Be Moved.

“This is devastating for James,” a source said about the lawsuit.

James was recently re-signed to Simon Cowell’s label Syco, after being dropped by the company two year’s after winning The X Factor.

“He has pulled off one of the most incredible music stories of the year by re-signing with Simon Cowell and getting to No. 1 for three weeks in a row,” the source told The Sun.

“Say You Won’t Let Go is already one of the biggest singles of the year so this is a real hammer blow.”

Both acts’ latest albums are produced by the same music company, Columbia Records, but despite sharing the same label The Script have apparently hired a music expert to look into the case further.

“There is no doubt the songs sound alike and have a similar chord progression,” the sourced continued.

“It’ll be interesting to see what happens next. James has just got back on the straight and narrow after a difficult few years and a lawsuit is the last thing he needs.”

Have a listen to the two songs to see if they really are that similar.
