Still going strong! Girl band Liir decide to stay together despite losing out on Eurosong

New Irish girl band Liir have decided to stay together – despite losing out on their Eurovision dream.

The band made out of You’re A Star winner Leanne Moore, Voice of Ireland singer Kim Hayden and former Industry member Michele McGrath didn’t make it through to the Eurosong final.

Liir had originally formed with hopes of representing Ireland at this year’s Eurovision competition.

Sharing this photo of the girls rehearsing last night, the band said:

“Rehearsals today…. Exciting times ahead. Thanks so much for all the messages about Eurosong and best wishes to all!

“It wasn’t meant to be…..what can we say but roll on 2016.”

Both Leanne and Michele made it to the final auditions for Louis Walsh’s ill-fated girl band Wonderland, while Kim recently released a single with Paddy Casey.

Michele has been busy the last few weeks supporting UFC fighter boyfriend Cathal Pendred, who has been in the US for fights.

In the last two weeks the Dubliner has been in Boston and New York cheering on her beau.

While singer Leanne, who previously performed with Jedward and Ryan Dolan on the Eurovision stage, has been busy working on the A Department with boyfriend Dave Behan.
