Siva Kaneswaran fuming he was stopped from 'having a voice' in The Wanted

Furious Siva Kaneswaran has claimed he was “prevented” from “having a voice” in The Wanted.

The Dublin singer – who was one-fifth of the boyband – admits he wasn’t happy towards the end of their time together as a group before their split earlier this year.

He said: “It’s weird because I feel like [fans have] only had a small taste of who I am and what I sound like.

“I was put in a role with the band that I didn’t really like, and it wasn’t easy, because I was prevented from being me and having a voice.

“Mark Wahlberg said it best, ‘The peacock needs to spread its wings and fly’ and I plan on doing just that.

“So with my next step, and in this next phase, I’m so excited to show you the other 60% of me that I couldn’t show you.”

Writing on his new Hello! blog, Siva added that he is delighted to have arrived in Los Angeles to start work on his solo record and modeling career.

“These past two weeks have been a bit chaotic. The flight over was really tough…we were extremely jet lagged for about three days, but you know me me,” he said.

“I bounced back and made a full recovery. My first weekend here I went hiking in Runyon Canyon – wow! The view was awesome.

“I must say, it’s very refreshing to do so many active things out doors and with nature. We’ve also moved in to a new flat (or ‘apartment’ as they say here), and I’ve become an expert furniture assembler and mover.”
