2FM star Ryan Tubridy was called a “slightly sexist control freak” after telling a guest they should have worn high heels for him.
The Late Late Show presenter spent part of his show yesterday lecturing Maia Dunphy for not presenting herself properly to him and choosing flip-flops as part of her outfit.
And Tubs even admitted he was coming off like a “perv” for his ongoing “sexual sartorialism”.
He told the Celebrity MasterChef star: “You were doing so well. You came in, okay the hair is tied back, and looking lovely today.

“The top and skirt, you have a particularly lovely skirt on. And I was like, ‘Great – there’s going to be killer heels on.’ And I had a look, and I couldn’t even look at them.
“I just saw the flip, I didn’t even see the flop. I just said no, I’m out. It’s such a pity, because it wrecks me.”
And asked “would it not be a bit sad to bring in a pair of heels just to wear for you,” Tubs replied: “No. Many people do that, because they know they are going to be complemented and praised.”
He added: “I think you need to go and reflect on this. Think about your mum, what would she have done, she would have worn heels… now I sound like a perv.”

And Maia, who played along with Tubs, told him: “You sound like a slightly sexist control freak, not a perv. A perv would be fine.”
The RTE star replied: “I object to that last comment – the word ‘slightly’ – I know exactly what I am.”
He added at the end of their piece together, that she should be lucky Louise McSharry is filling in for him next week so “you won’t have sexual sartorialism going on”.
