Brendan O'Carroll admits he would love to have had children with wife Jennifer Gibney

Brendan O’Carroll has revealed one of his biggest regrets is not having children with wife Jennifer Gibney.

The happily married couple have been together nearly 20 years, but never had a child together.

The Mrs Brown’s Boys creator admitted he would loved to have had children with Jenny, but she has been a great step-mum to his children.

“Jenny doesn’t have children. Over the years there have been times when I would get a bit broody and she did too, but she was also step-mum to my children.

“I would have loved to have seen what a baby from me and Jen would be like and we did say, ‘Wouldn’t it be great to have a baby’, because we love kids,” he explained.

“Then when we got married, we were like, ‘Come on, we should’.

“But we were still on the road a lot and we couldn’t inflict that on a baby. Then what saved our bacon was our first grandson Jamie being born eight years ago,” he told the Irish Sun.

Strictly: Brendan says he’s proud of Jenny

“Now Jenny and I have our baby fix through our grandchildren — our youngest grandson Isaac was only born this summer.

Meanwhile Brendan said he was so proud of Jenny, 50, after she took part in BBC show Strictly Come Dancing.

“I was so proud of her getting out there on that dancefloor. I had no idea that she could move like that. You would move like that. You would never have got me out there shaking my bits,” he said.
