Colin Farrell set to star in new Disney live-action – and it’s an old favourite

Colin Farrell is set to star in the live action version of Dumbo.

The original animated film, which was released back in 1941, told the touching story of a baby elephant, born with oversized ears, who develops the ability to fly.

According to Deadline, Colin is being lined up to play the role of Holt, the widowed father of two kids.

Tim Burton will direct the much-anticipated remake, and major stars such as Danny DeVito and Eva Green have signed up for the project.

This is Disney’s latest plan for a live-action reboot, as they’ve seen huge success with the likes of Cinderalla, The Jungle Book, Tarzan and most recently – Beauty And The Beast, which has taken in an astonishing €500 million since it’s release last week.

Colin most recently starred in the Harry Potter prequel film Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

The Dubliner has previously worked with Disney, having starred in Saving Mr. Banks.
