Des Cahill warns people off next year’s Dancing With The Stars

Des Cahill has warned people off next year’s Dancing with the Stars.

The RTÉ sports presenter spoke to Goss.ie after his emotional exit from Dancing with the stars and highlighted the amount of time that it takes to be involved in such a massive TV production.

“The amount of time it takes is ridiculous. Two of the female contestants actually moved out of their home because they can’t combine work, family.”

“People have no idea of the personal commitment. I wasn’t at home at all, my wife Caroline didn’t see me so I’d like to thank her so much,” he added.

Dancing Dessy was humbled by being told that he was the Nations favourite and thrilled to have gotten to the quarter final of the first ever Dancing with the Stars Ireland, despite the amount of time it took to rehearse each week.

“I was humbled by it. I started to embrace it in the last week or so. It’s a big thing to be told that everyone loves you, it’s hard to take on board.”

The RTÉ star was very complimentary of all the contestants who were left in the competition, and thinks it’s anyone’s game.

“I think Denise could go strong. Aoibhinn’s so graceful, Aidan’s such a battler and competitor who’s still in there and Dayl has tricks up his sleeve yet. Dayl might well win it.”

Des also said that Aidan is still happy to be in the show despite his first child being born last week and with the show being so time consuming on the each contestant.

“I’d say he’s delighted, he’s a competitive fella. That’s a good thing, he’s a winner Aidan as he’s proved in the GAA world,” he added.
