Dominic Cooper has gushed about Ruth Negga’s recent BAFTA nod.
The actress is nominated for the coveted Rising Star award which is decided on by public vote.
The pair started dating in 2009 and are known for keeping their romance notoriously quiet – however, the actor praised the Limerick native’s hard work.

Dominic admitted that it was a wonderful thing to see Ruth’s career blossom and for her work to be appreciated.
“It’s wonderful to see and to have watched that process unfold and for it to be appreciated is a beautiful thing,” he told Press Association.
Speaking about the BAFTAs, the Brit revealed that it’s one of the most popular awards ceremony among UK stars because
“We grew up surrounded by it, it’s the one you;re desperate to be at and attend, and when you’re finally there it’s a celebration.
“But it is people’s opinions and you do have to keep that in the back of your mind, and there are people who get left out.
“Ultimately it’s an evening of appreciating and seeing the people who are not only in front of the camera but the people you don’t get an opportunity to meet but are the incredible minds behind making these wonderful films that take years and years.”
