Dancing With The Stars bosses have denied claims that they want Hughie Maughan booted off the show after tan gate.
During the week, the Irish Sun reported that show bosses wanted him out as they were “embarrassed” of him, and that they were favouring other contestants – namely Des Cahill.
However, a spokesperson for DWTS has since responded to claims, insisting that the reports were nothing but nonsense.
“Hughie has done more press than any of the other contestants this week, everyone in the country know who he is,” a spokesperson told RTÉ Entertainment.

“All we want him to do now is to focus on his dancing so he gets the points to stay in the competition, which we have spoken to him about.
“It is down to the public and the judges who gets to stay on the show and Sunday is going to be very competitive,” they added.
Meanwhile, the competition on Dancing With The Stars is set to heat up tonight, as the first contestant will be eliminated on Sunday night’s show.
