Eoghan McDermott takes a week off his show after vicious attack

The star was attacked on St. Stephen's night

Eoghan McDermott has announced that he will be taking a week off work after his vicious attack on St. Stephen’s night.

The 2fm presenter was left with a concussion and forced to get a brain scan after a stranger jumped him from behind.

He posted a video last week describing exactly what happened on the night.

In his latest tweet, the Dubliner says that he is still experiencing “shooting pains, ears ringing [and] blurry vision.”

The 33-year-old was meant to present 3 New Year’s Eve concert, but could not attend because of the attack.

In the video he posted, Eoghan told of exactly what happened to him on the night, and how he was feeling after.

“Face is a bit swollen. I was in Clondalkin on Stephen’s night, I socialise there regularly. Was over seeing friends and family, never had any problems,” he explained.

“I was walking by myself to get a taxi home on the phone and someone – or some ones – came up behind me and sucker punched me in the back of the head.”
