Ali Hewson has revealed that it was “heartbreaking” when her daughters flew the nest for the first time.
Bono’s wife spoke exclusively to Goss.ie at the Liz & Noel’s Chernobyl Lunch at the Mansion House on Dawson Street, and admitted it wasn’t easy watching her children move away.
“Of course I miss them, I mean it was heartbreaking when the two girls left,” she admitted.
“We talk nearly every day on Skype, Facetime, e-mails whatever I can get them on,” she added.
Bono and Ali’s daughters Eve and Jordan are following in their footsteps of fame with both Eve and Jordan being in the spotlight in the US.
Eve, 25, has become one of Hollywood’s up and coming actors, starring in Bridge of Spies with Tom Hanks and is currently filming Robin Hood alongside Jamie Dornan.
While Jordan, 27, is a social activist and works as an online editor of Global Citizen, an organisation aiming to eradicate extreme poverty, which certainly coincides with her mother’s work.
Ali spoke about her daughters fame and jokes by saying that it has definitely come from one side of the family.
“Well I suppose they’ve 50% of the genes at least,” she laughed.
