Brendan O’Carroll has admitted he doesn’t care about the backlash from winning Best British Sitcom.
The Irish comedian told Goss.ie that he was delighted his show Mrs Brown’s Boys was crowned Best British Sitcom – but there was a lot of backlash.
“Back lash or not backlash, my attitude is f*** them,” he said.

The Dubliner revealed that it was the viewers choice to nominate the show.
“The backlash is the backlash. We didn’t pick it, we didn’t ask to be in it,” he told Goss.ie.Â
“It was the viewers that voted and once the viewers voted, it’s the viewers word.

Brendan also admitted he would love to win Best Writer but is honoured to be nominated for three categories in the awards.
“To be nominated with three other people, that’s the honour in itself.
“Somebody has to take the award and whoever does, it really doesn’t matter – you get to put on your CV again, IFTA nominee,'” he added.
