Darren Kennedy has revealed that he thinks the style at award season was lacklustre, and that Katy Perry was ‘trying to hard’ at the BRIT’s.
Speaking exclusively to Goss.ie at the launch of the VIP Style Awards 2017, the presenter spoke about his experiences on the red carpet this year.
“I’ve spent much of this year doing a lot of red carpets. I was hosting on the BRIT’s, I was doing London fashion week, and even looking at the Oscars – I’ve been quite disappointed.”
The host of the VIP Style Awards continued, “I just found it a bit lacklustre. Even Katy Perry who I met and was chatting to on the red carpet at the BRIT’s, and she looked… Grand. I just thought she was trying too hard.
“So I’m hoping at the VIP Style Awards that the Irish will redeem it for everyone else. On the red carpet on the night we’re going to see some really stand out looks.
“Dublin is a style capital of the world and it can hold it’s head up high against any of the others. London, New York – absolutely we’ve got our own thing going on.”
