Ian admitted that he doesn’t understand fully what happened between Anton and the management, but he believes there was a row.

“I really don’t know the full details of what happened but obviously there was some sort of a row,” he told the Sun.

“I thought they were renegotiating a contract but it seems not. I don’t know what the plans are for the future, you’ll just have to wait and see.”

Speaking about his own breakfast show, the presenter chatted happily about his role in Today FM but also admitted that people will have to watch their backs in the station.

“I would put myself in the same kind of neck of the woods as Anton in terms of styles of broadcast, so obviously everyone has to watch their back.”

“We used to go on until 10am in the morning and then when Ray D’Arcy arrived we went back to 9am. I’m kind of happy with the two hours now but sure everything is up for negotiation.”

“I haven’t started saying in the morning, ‘Oh God, what am I doing this for?’ so I still like it,” he added.
