The Blizzards headlined the inaugural night of London’s new Irish festival, Emerald Sounds, on Friday, and Niall Horan was there to show his support for his fellow Mullingar men.
Goss.ie spotted the One Direction singer – who is currently working on his debut solo album – keeping a low profile as he enjoyed the gig from the back of Camden’s Electric Ballroom with a group of friends, including his cousin Deo Devine.
And he was treated to a storming show as The Blizzards wowed the crowd with a high energy set, which mixed old favourites such as Trust Me, I’m A Doctor and Postcards with new songs including last year’s comeback single Drop Down The Anchor.

In between songs, frontman Bressie entertained the crowd with his signature banter and even invited one lucky fan named Rita, who was celebrating her hen night at the gig, up on stage.
Telling her to “bring a friend for moral support”, Bressie invited the woman, who was clad in a white dress and veil, to join him and his bandmates as they performed and he even posed for selfies on stage with them.

Paddy Casey and indie pop act Heathers also performed at Friday’s show, while The Riptide Movement, Rubberbandits, Ryan Sheridan, Craig Gallagher, Elm, Niamh Crowther, Scoops and Ham Sandwich are all on the bill for Saturday (March 4). And tickets are still available here.
Mary Grammer, a 23-year-old Middlesex University undergraduate student from Kilkenny, set up the impressive festival through the company she founded, Grammer Music.
She explained that it was born not only out of a passion for discovering alternative music and up-coming artists, but for providing unique festivals tailored to niche genres of music that bring these alternative acts to fans in live and intimate settings.
