Rory O’Neill aka Panti has said the referendum on same sex marriage is going to get quite nasty.
Today the Toaiseach revealed a referendum on same sex marriage will take place next Spring.
“It took me totally off guard. I was not expecting an announcement today.
“We’ve known for a while that it was supposed to be next year, but you’re always a little doubtful,” Panti said of the news.

Speaking to Colm Hayes on his 2FM Drive By show, Panti warned that the next year will be a difficult one.
“I just want to get it over and done with now. I’m not naive, this isn’t going to be a walk in the park, it’s going to be difficult.
“I think Ireland has shown in the past that people are easily spooked.

“I think the campaign will probably end up getting nasty, we’ve seen it in this country in the past,” Panti explained.
“If it’s going to be nasty and painful then let’s get it all over with.
