PICS: Taoiseach Leo Varadkar joins crowds for Dublin Pride Parade

Thousands of Irish people were out in force today for Dublin’s Pride Parade – including our Taoiseach Leo Varadkar.

The Fine Gael leader is the first Taoiseach to march at the annual Pride parade.

Speaking ahead of the march, Leo told the Irish Independent that the parade is “symbolic of the enormous changes in our society and how it has moved on in the past number of decades.”

“I really owe the fact that I am here to the people who have campaigned over the years when it wasn’t popular or fashionable to do so.”
