Samantha Mumba will perform her greatest hit Gotta Tell You on The Six O’Clock Show on Friday.
The singer, who shot to fame in the early 2000s, has been filling in for Lucy Kennedy on the TV3 show over the past few months – but, she will sadly host her last show on Friday.
However, after Billboard magazine included Samantha’s debut single Gotta Tell You in a list of the greatest choruses from the 21st century yesterday – TV3 decided to mark the occasion in the best way.
Taking to Twitter, the Six O’Clock show posted a video of Samantha and wrote, “If this gets 1000 RTs we’ll make @samanthamumba1 sing ‘Gotta Tell Ya’ on her last show on Friday! GO GO GO!!!”

Thankfully, the tweet has already received well over 1000 RTs, so it looks like Samantha will be throwing it back to the early 2000s on Friday’s show.
In the list, song choices were “ranked by no metric other than the songs that most immediately came to mind when thinking about everything that a great chorus should be.”
Billboard said, “When the strings crescendo into the hook of the Dublin pop sensation’s 2000 hit, Mumba’s chorus flows in like a waterfall.”
“The urgency of the message (“Don’t wanna tell you this now, but it wouldn’t be right/ If I didn’t tell you this tonight”) inspired turn-of-the-century teens to pump the brakes and listen to their conscience before jumping in the sheets.”
