Amy Huberman and Brian O’Driscoll face problems with dream home renovation

Amy Huberman and Brian O’Driscoll are facing problems with the renovation of their new home.

The couple have been planning to plans to revamp their new €1.8m dream family home, but their neighbours have lodged a complaint to the Dublin City Council.

Donald and Isabel Fitzmaurice have lodged an objection to the scale of the project, and architect Brian O’Donnell claims the impact of the proposed extension “will be hugely detrimental to the amenity” of the Fitzmaurice’s home.

The Fitzmaurice’s home is adjoining with Amy and Brian’s.

The Independent reported that the architect Brian O’Donnell also stated that if the extension was to go ahead, it would be detrimental to the Fitzmaurice’s home.

“We believe that the scale of the proposed development and its effect in multiple locations to the existing house will have an adverse impact on the character and amenity of the adjoining dwelling.”

He is also requesting that the Council restricts the extent of the development where it significantly impacts on the Fitzmaurice home.

A decision is due from the Council next month.
