Claire Byrne has revealed why being a working mum is “a part of” her.
The broadcaster, who hosts Claire Byrne Live on RTÉ One and her own show on RTÉ Radio 1, admitted that being a working mother is a “personal choice” – and thankfully, it works for her.
The blonde presenter is mum to two kids, Patrick (three) and Jane (two) – whom she has with hubby Gerry Scollan.
Speaking to Goss.ie at the Debenhams A/W Fashion Show, Claire said, “That’s just personal choice, for me I love my job and I love my work – and that’s really a part of who I am.”

While Claire prefers to balance her work and home life, she has great admiration for stay-at-home mums – and truly thinks they have a way tougher job than her.
“But I really admire women who stay at home, I think that’s actually a tougher job in many ways than what I do. It’s really tough,” she said.
The RTÉ star wed her long-term love Gerry in a surprise ceremony back in June, after five years together.
The pair exchanged vows in West Dublin before celebrating their reception at Angler’s Rest, Chapelizod.

Speaking to Goss.ie about married life, Claire admitted that nothing has changed since they tied the knot – and that they’re still busier than ever.
“It’s just like unmarried life really, it’s all still hectic you know with two little ones, so we’re just as busy as we were before, but it’s great.
“We’re back on radio and TV now so it will be full-on right through until July of next year, so who knows what could happen in the interim. But it’s good, it’s good busy,” she said.

On the topic of Claire’s work life, the 41-year-old is often described as one of RTÉ’s leading ladies in Montrose.
However, Claire prefers to not look at her job in that way – but is happy that people have that opinion of her.
“I don’t think of it in those terms really. I’m just doing a job that I love.
“If they want to think that, then that’s great!” she added.
