Mairead Ronan has revealed why she’s leaving Today FM after 15 years.
The TV presenter spent 12 years producing the Ray D’Arcy show before moving to Ian Dempsey’s breakfast show in 2014, but sadly announced that she would be leaving the station in a shock Instagram post last night.
Speaking to Ian Dempsey this morning, she said, “I’m 15-years in Today FM, and feel like right now that I’ve done it all here.”
“Faro brushes are doing very well, Ireland’s Fittest Family is coming back, and last year you very kindly allowed me to do all those other things.”

The mother-of-two admitted that although she’s sad, she won’t miss everyone at the station.
“Ian Dempsey and everyone on the Breakfast Show have been an absolute pleasure to work with, as has everyone been in Today FM…I can’t say everyone in here…almost everyone has been a pleasure to work with, and I’ve just done 15-years here, and I need to do other things,” she said.
The RTÉ star then became tearful when Ian said, “I think I found a friend in you forever.”
“Stop, you’re going to make me cry again. I’ve been crying a lot. I cried writing my email,” Mairead replied.
