Nicky Byrne says the future of Dancing With The Stars is STILL up in the air

Nicky Byrne has revealed that the future of RTÉ’s Dancing With The Stars is still up in the air – as they are yet to confirm a second series.

The former Westlife star co-hosted the show’s first season with Amanda Byram, and the series went down a hit with Irish viewers.

Despite the show’s success, stars of the show are yet to find out whether DWTS will return early next year.

“I haven’t heard yet from Dancing With The Stars. That would be great to do again, I’d love to do it if the opportunity arose. It was a great show to do and a busy show to do, but I think everybody enjoyed it,” Nicky told the Herald.

“We haven’t been told officially yet, no. I’d like to think it’ll come back and I’d like to think they’d want me, but we’ll see,” he said.

Meanwhile, Nicky’s co-host Amanda has also revealed her hopes to return next year.

“I loved every minute of it. It was so much fun. I just want to see who is in the line-up for next year,” she said. I think anybody dancing out of their comfort zone is great television.”

The first series saw GAA star Aidan O’Mahony crowned the winner.
