Tax free status awarded to rugby legend Paul O’Connell and 2fm’s Jennifer Zamparelli

Irish rugby star Paul O’Connell and RTÉ 2fm’s Jennifer Zamperelli are just two of numerous other people who have been awarded a tax free status in Ireland.

According to the Irish Mirror, the former Ireland rugby team captain was recently granted this dispensation on earnings from his autobiography which was published last year, Paul O’Connell: The Battle.

The 37-year-old Munster sporting legend’s autobiography was a huge success, and became a Christmas bestseller.

On top of this success, Paul O’Connell: The Battle won Sports Book of the Year at the Bord Gais Energy awards last year.

Jennifer Zamperelli, 37, was also granted this tax-free exemption, for her work on the scripts for her hit Irish sitcom, Bridget and Eamon.

Numerous other Irish household names have been spotted on the list of people on the Artist’s Tax Exemptions list, which was first introduced by former Taoiseach Charles Haughey in 1969.

RTÉ’s The Late Late Show host, Ryan Tubridy, has appeared on the list for the second time as a result for his children’s book Patrick And The President.

Numerous scriptwriters have been awarded for their work, such as the scriptwriters for Irish crime drama Red Rock. John Condon, Mairead Kiernan and Kim Revill are some of the scriptwriters who have gained this tax free status.
