Vogue Williams on making it in the UK: ‘It’s a tough one to crack’

Vogue Williams is getting real about making it big in the UK.

The model and TV presenter, who splits her time between Dublin and London, has revealed that it’s taken a long time for her to secure regular work in the UK.

“It’s a tough one to crack. Things are going well, but it does take a long time,” she told the Herald.

“When I moved to Australia, it took me a year-and-a-half before I started getting any work. Now in London I’m getting work, but it does take a long time.”

“I can’t even imagine going to LA or something and starting from scratch again,” she said.

Vogue’s advice for people hoping to crack the TV industry includes a lot of hard work – but also just being in the right place at the right time.

“You go to things and meet people, it’s all about being in the right place at the right time.

“You have to be talented, but you also have to be super lucky as well. There’s a lot of meetings and pushing your own ideas forward. It’s a lot of work,” she explained.

The Howth native is currently dating former Made in Chelsea star Spencer Matthews – which has made her a person of interest to the British paparazzi.

However, Vogue says that they’re not “too invasive” – but she does make a conscious effort to avoid certain place that attract paps.

“I’m not going to go to Nobu because the paparazzi hang around places like that. You just need to be wise about where you go. They’re not too invasive,” she added.
