There were plenty of talented actresses out in force on Friday night for the Women In Film pre-Oscar cocktail party.
Brie Larson, who took home last year’s Best Actress Academy Award for Room, was hosting the event at Nightingale Plaza and looked lovely in a simple but stylish white dress.
She was spotted sharing a laugh with Emma Stone – this year’s favourite for Best Actress – over a cocktail.

Emma cut a stunning figure in a glittering top and matching trousers as she caught up with her fellow nominees. Meanwhile Meryl Streep wore a printed dress and Viola Davis turned heads in a red jumpsuit.
Meryl took the stage for an impromptu speech during the evening. She told the crowd, “I feel like never saying anything again. Everyone is speaking up and that’s great because with numbers they can’t ignore us!”
Brie also shared some moving words about being a woman in Hollywood with the audience.

“Even though being an actor was really hard, it was even harder to learn how to be a woman,” she said. “And because I loved film so much, that’s where I turned to. That’s how I learned how to be who I am today.”
There were more than 30 nominees for this year’s Oscars at the party, including Captain Fantastic’s Viggo Mortensen and Ava DuVernay (nominated in the Documentary Feature category for 13th).
Frieda Pinto, Jaime King, Zoe Kravitz, Camilla Belle, Poppy Delevingne, Michelle Dockery and Rowan Blanchard were among the other celeb guests at the star-studded event.
